Dr. Roderick Hunter is a General Dentist at Hunter Dental in Markham
Dr. Roderick (Rory) Hunter is a general dentist in Markham. He graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry and joined his father, Dr. C. G. (Gib) Hunter, in practice.
Dr. Hunter is a graduate of the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the clinical clerkship program in TMJ and Orofacial Pain Management at the University of Florida. He has also completed advanced educational continuums at the Kois Center for comprehensive dentistry in Seattle, Washington, and the Eubank Institute in Plano, Texas.
Dr. Hunter is a member in good standing of the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Hunter and his wife, Dr. Livia Todorovich-Hunter, have three children: Cassie, Cal, and Lara. In October 2023, they welcomed their first grandchild, Jack.
Outside of dentistry and family life, Dr. Hunter is passionate about tennis. In 2024, he was inducted into the University of Toronto Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding athletic achievements. As captain of the Varsity Blues tennis team, he helped lead the team through a remarkable five-year stretch during which the University of Toronto captured five consecutive OUAA team championships. A provincial champion each year from 1979 to 1983, he also received the prestigious Silver T Award in recognition of his exceptional athletic performance. Dr. Hunter won a gold medal at the 1980 Ontario Summer Games and later coached Team Ontario to a gold medal at the 1984 Canadian Summer Games.
Today, Dr. Hunter enjoys playing tennis with family and friends, skiing, travelling, and spending time at the cottage.
